Vision, Mission & Values
VISION
Impacting the world through commitment to Jesus Christ, authentic relationships and discipleship.
MISSION
To be a community where people are connected, transformed and fruitful.
OUR RELATIONSHIP VALUES
As a team we value unity and oneness and will endeavor, by the grace of God, to:
COMMUNICATE IN A CHRISTLIKE MANNER
Having all individual and corporate communication reflect and glorify Christ by:
KEEPING OUR WORD - Doing what we said we would do (Matthew 5:37)
HAVING SOFT EYES AND VOICE – Keeping our tone of voice respectful and self-controlled, and our expression gentle and kind (Col 4:6;Matt 12:19/Is.42:2)
RESPONDING NOT REACTING – Choosing to allow our values rather than our emotions and passion to dictate our response (Gal 5:22-24; James 1:19)
BOLDLY SPEAKING THE TRUTH IN LOVE - Presenting undiluted truth without compromising the motive of love (Ephesians 4:15, 25, 29; 2 Tim 2:24,25)
SPEAKING TO THE POTENTIAL - Seeing each other as God sees us, without the limitations and the falleness of sin (Eph 4:29; 1Thess 5:11; Heb 10:24)
2. PRACTICE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
Letting God’s love for us set the standard for our treatment of others by:
WALKING IN HUMILITY - Appropriately seeing ourselves as God sees us, neither with pride, nor with self-abasement (Romans 12:3; Phil 2:3; Col 3:12; James 4:6,10; 1 Peter 5:5,6)
SEEKING FORGIVENESS - Instigating reconciliation when we know another has hard feelings towards us, whether or not we intended to offend (Matt 5:23,24)
BELEIVING THE BEST – By not judging motives or intent and looking for the good in other’s words and actions and being gracious with imperfect expression; and if actions are not showing the best we would go to our value of speaking truth in love. (1 Cor 13:6,7)
3. HAVE INTEGRITY
When our actions consistently reflect our inner moral & ethical standards by:
BEING CONGRUENT IN ALL WE SAY AND DO - Ensuring our words and actions accurately reflect our beliefs and values without contradiction (Jam 3:9,10)
BEING ACCOUNTABLE TO ONE ANOTHER – Allowing others to speak into and influence our blind spots and areas of indiscretion or immaturity (Jam 5:16; Gal 2:2)
KEEPING SHORT ACCOUNTS – Communicating so as not to allow time to inflate a misunderstanding into an offense (Matt 5:23,24; Eph 4:26,27)
4. BE VULNERABLE
Not hiding from others what is imperfect or unfinished in our lives by:
BEING OPEN AND HONEST – Choosing to express our feelings and thoughts with wisdom & love, when it would be easier not to (Prov 16:13; 2 Cor 3:17)
OWNING OUR OWN STUFF – Taking responsibility for our imperfection without defensiveness or blaming our shortcomings on others (Rom 2:1)
BEING INTERDEPENDENT AND WORKING TOGETHER AS A TEAM - Understanding each one’s strengths and weaknesses allows us to function alongside each other without competition or comparison “I need you, and you need me” (Ephesians 4:16; 1 Cor 12:14-26)
