We are welcoming our “Pastor Partner” friends Marty and Sue Shoub to our service this Sunday Aug. 29th. (Luncheon to follow at 12:30. Kaibagan Filipino and Asian Restaurant (KLO and Gordon)) We are pleased to have Marty preach and they will share about the ministry in Kiryat Yam. Tents of Mercy began in Israel in 1995 with two home cell groups and a few cardboard boxes of humanitarian aid. Today, by the grace and compassion of God they are a growing network of five Messianic congregations in the Galilee and a humanitarian aid warehouse/distribution center. The Bakers road trip to Tijuana del Mar, Mexico
YOU TOO CAN “BE THE MERCY”
Our family had the privilege of spending the month of July serving at the YWAM base in Tijuana/Baja, where we served as mission builders. It all started when we as a family felt the need for a mission’s trip, where we could actually do something tangible for the Kingdom of God. As we prayed we felt the Lord leading us to help at the Tijuana Base, so was born the summer road trip to Mexico.
Rob and Wendy McAlpine were our contacts at the base. They, with their three children (Jordan, Caleb and Rene) had lived several years in Kelowna attending New Life and working with YWAM Okanagan. After relocating to Tijuana/Baja two years ago, the McAlpines have enjoyed leading the DTS, Worship and Media dept’s at the base. Please remember to pray for them as they serve.
YWAM TJ is known for their house building program called,” Homes of Hope” and has been building houses for the past 20 years. Over this time they have built approximately ten thousand homes for the poor and needy, helping those less fortunate and giving families a hope for the future. They have drawn upon those with much to help those with little.
We had the privilege of helping build two homes and seeing these families overjoyed to receive their new homes. The process is the same every time, the teams will provide $5-6000 dollars and they all help in the construction, which incidentally takes only 2 days.
We came away refreshed in God and more connected as a family. It was a great road trip.

New Life Lunch BBQ

We have been hosting a church family lunch at least once per month to gather, meet new people and break bread together. By donation. If you are not able to make a donation, please do not let this hold you back from joining us for lunch. All are welcome!

We will be BBQing Hamburgers with all the trimmings. Hope to see you there:)
