God With Us

Who Caused the Coronavirus

Did Satan cause this pandemic?

Satan wishes he did. And he would love you to think that he did.

This would make Satan god. Thankfully, He is not that big or powerful.

Satan can use it for his ends. He can add to the suffering. He wants to magnify people’s fear. He want to see people act selfishly. He wants to maximize the devastation.

Is this God’s judgment on the world?

So did God cause the pandemic? No! Absolutely not.

Think about this, who is being most hit by the Coronavirus. The weakest and most infirm amongst us. These are the very people who Jesus was drawn to, and gave His love to.

The Bible shows us that natural disasters are actually the result of sin in the world. God created Adam and Eve with the responsibility to  steward creation. When they sinned, their moral choices had a direct affect on creation.

In Genesis 3 tells, God describes to Adam and Eve the direct impact that their sin has on creation: “cursed is the ground because of You. This ground will produce thorns and thistles.”

Now, Their sin was not directly against creation. They didn’t scorch and burn or pollute the ground. However, it seemed that their moral choices spiritually synthesized polluted the environment and this resulted in the world in not working as it was designed.

Jesus the saviour of the world

John the Baptist said of Jesus, “The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” He came to take away the sin of the world.

The reason Jesus came was to take on himself your sins, the consequences of your sins and indeed the sins of the world.

In Jesus therefore the very answer to abating this pandemic has already been found.

He invites you and I to draw near Him in these uncertain times.

So how do we navigate though these uncertain times?

Know God is with us.

Jesus, came as God’s Emmanuel, to bring order out of chaos, redemption.

He jumped into the middle of the mess and  broke the power of sin and chaos. It wasn’t a future hope, it was a now hope. The thing that surprised the disciples on resurrection Sunday was that they thought the resurrection was a future hope. But it appeared right in thee midst of their chaos.

In these times of challenge the circumstances, people, and indeed

Psalm 16:11 New King James Version (NKJV)

You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Be Wise

Ask Him for wisdom. Wisdom is one of the ways scripture is established.

Proverbs 24:3 By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;

We need the wisdom of the Lord in this season.

How do I need to prepare?

What do I need to do?

Guard your peace

John 14:27 NIV Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

If you have lost your peace you have to get before God and get it back.

Find out what was it that you exchanged it for?

A lie! It I let go of the lie what will you give me in its place.

Finding your voice in the psalms

God is waiting for your prayers.

Ask Him how to pray

Then pray

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14
